For the past 40 years Dot has been observed around Healesville Tennis Club administering mid-week ladies tennis in a quiet manner, supporting women holistically.
In this region other clubs have struggled to field teams but at Healesville we maintain a healthy core group of 20 ladies who currently play mid-week competition.
At an age where many ladies retire from the sport, Dot continues to play two days for Healesville and another for Yarra Glen
competition level tennis and makes herself available for extra if
needed as an emergency.
Dot began playing mid-week ladies at Healesville in 1973. 1989
was the first year Healesville entered a ladies team into Mountain Area Ladies Tuesday Tennis Association (MALTTA) and
Dot became the mid-week representative. In 1996 she also became the mid-week representative for Ferntree Gully & Districts
Association (FTGLWTA).
The decades of Dot’s input into ladies tennis at Healesville will
be a difficult record to beat.
